Rising antibiotic resistance is one of the greatest health threats of our time and requires that every healthcare institution develop effective interventions that promote the judicious use of antimicrobials. Small, rural, and critical access hospitals are key players in this fight, yet often lack the time and resources to independently create robust antimicrobial stewardship programs.
The University of Washington Tele-Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (UW TASP) empower individuals and teams working in Infectious Diseases and Sewardship in Medicine by providing education, mentoring, community building, and encouraging resource sharing
UW TASP combines:
- Ongoing ID and stewardship mentoring with UW ID physicians, ID pharmacists, nurses, and clinical microbiologists
- Weekly tele-conferences with clinical didactics case discussions
- Remote grand rounds
- Custom built Infectious Diseases and Stewardship resources portal including ID toolkits, order sets, formularies, and guidelines
- Access to the UW TASP Antibiotic Pocket Guide
- Quality Improvement PDSA tracking tools and dashboard
- On site assessment and mock audits
- Annual in person conference
- CME, CNE and Pharmacy credits
